Camp Amicus Counselor Coordinator
Foothills Academy Society invites you to be an integral part of this unique summer camp program for children and youth with learning disabilities and/or ADHD. Our goal is to create a rewarding and successful summer for each camper, with an emphasis on enhancing self-esteem and social skills in a fun environment.
Under the guidance of the Camp Manager, the Counsellor Coordinator is responsible the big picture of camp, with their focus being the well being, growth and development of campers and staff. This position is responsible for overseeing the head counsellors and frontline counsellors. This includes creating and overseeing goals and coaching plans for the staff team, and directly supporting camper behaviour in high level camper behaviour issues. The Camp Coordinator is responsible for individual parent communication and contact.
The successful candidate must submit a Police Record Check before commencement of work at Camp Amicus.
Position Dates: May 22 - August 29, 2018 (14.5 weeks)
- June 18 to June 28 – staff training, July 25-27 at Goldeye Center in
- July 1 – July 27 - overnight camp at Goldeye Centre in Nordegg, AB
- July 30 - August 24 - day camp at Foothills Academy
**Please note that you are responsible for your own accommodations in Calgary but room and board is provided at Goldeye Centre).
Wage: $720 per week (includes room & board while on site at the Goldeye
