Who Are We?

Mission Statement:

The Alberta Camping Association is dedicated to promoting, organizing, and advancing camps in Alberta.

The Alberta Camping Association (ACA):

The ACA is a not-for-profit organization that has given leadership and direction to the camping movement in Alberta since it was formed in 1949. The ACA is currently made up of 172 members; 119 of which are camps that have been accredited by the ACA. Moreover, it is through the ACA Camp Accreditation program that we help the general public identify safe, healthy, well run camps. The ACA strives to increase public awareness of organized camping in Alberta for we believe that the camp experience enriches the lives of young and old alike. Furthermore, the ACA believes that camp builds engaged, capable citizens and leaders, and facilitates holistic, lifelong development.

We currently have two staff at our office in Edmonton: Kathyrn Rambow, Executive Director; and Hannah Grant, Program & Services Coordinator. We also have a seasonal Accreditation Coordinator, and for the summer of 2010 this position is filled by Alex Beacon.
