ACA Member Feature: HeLa Ventures

The Alberta Camping Association exists to help organize, promote, and advance camps in Alberta.  We will be frequently featuring ACA Members on this blog.

Your canoe is flying down the North Saskatchewan River. You and your partner in paddling are working hard to stay on course, water is splashing in the boat...and you’re having the time of your life!

This adventure almost tops yesterdays endeavor. Yesterday you hiked into the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains, learned how to climb up a natural rock face and experienced rappelling for the first time.

Welcome to HeLa Ventures Mountain Adventure School.  An incredible experience for teens that offers white water canoeing and rafting, lake canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, rappelling, wilderness living, survival and more! Not only is it the experience of a lifetime, this action-packed program offers up to 11 summer high school credits in Alberta!

HeLa Ventures Adventure Education Centre offers positive and educational outdoor experiences to individuals, groups, families and students. They employ a team of professional educators, qualified outdoor instructors and certified guides to run their adventure programs. They’re a unique way for people of all ages and from all walks of life to experience the outdoor adventure ‘camp’ experience; getting a taste for paddling, hiking, backpacking, river tripping and plenty of wilderness skills.

If you’re looking for an outdoor education program that challenges your students and gives them memories of a lifetime, HeLa Ventures is for you. You can mix-and-match programs to include a day of mountain biking combined with climbing and/or hiking, and have wilderness survival skills and canoeing the next day.

CTS credits are also available with some of their programs. For more information on school trips, visit them at
