The Alberta Camping Association exists to help organize, promote, and advance camps in Alberta. We will be frequently featuring ACA Members on this blog.
Camp Evergreen is a year-round camp located near the town of Sundre, Alberta in the beautiful foothills of the Canadian Rockies. Situated on 480 acres of gorgeous forested terrain, your campers will get their fill of outdoor pursuits, activities and adventures!
In the summer, they offer a wide array of organized camp programming for all ages, including a very popular family camp. In the spring, fall and winter, their camp is open to guest groups who wish to rent the facilities for meetings, retreats and other special events.
Are your kids ready for a week of fun, crazy, adventurous and even educational activities this summer? Camp Evergreen has an action-packed program that will keep your kids active while they explore the outdoors, learn new skills and make new friends. Here are some things they might experience:
Challenge Course: Your kids will gain self confidence and experience a bit of a thrill on this vertical playground! This upper challenge course features zip-lines, bridges, vine walks, balance beams and other challenging obstacles that will get their adrenaline pumping! The low ropes course can be enjoyed by all ages, even the tots, and has a series of obstacles to go through.
Horses: Most kids are pretty excited about learning about horses and even better, getting to ride them! Your camper will enjoy lessons and trail rides around the camp property through their beautiful forested trails. They’ll also learn how to look after their horse and how to groom them.
Adventure Sports: Archery, canoeing, hiking and climbing are all outdoor adventures enjoyed at Camp Evergreen. This camp also has basketball, floor hockey, soccer, football and a Frisbee golf course as well as table sports like ping pong and fooseball.
Field and Wide Games: Camp wouldn’t be the same without a few good old fashioned field games and wide games! Your child will make some real memories playing Capture the Flag, the Animal Game or a round of Knight, Riders, Princesses and Cavaliers!
Blue Cow and Orange Yak: What on earth are these activities? Named on a whim, and without any real reason, Blue Cow is Camp Evergreen’s morning chapel. This is where campers gather to sing fun songs and learn a bit about God. Orange Yak is the evening chapel time. This is where campers sing songs and hear from the camp speaker for the week.
Other camp activities include arts and crafts, paintball and survival skills. Sounds like a pretty good week? Their registration for 2017 Youth Camp, grades 1 through 11, is now open. Register today!
