About Camp Bonventure
Camp Bonventure is operated by Between Friends in Calgary. Between Friends has been offering social and recreational programs for people with disabilities in Calgary and surround area for over 30 years. Through all of their programs, they aim to benefit all people while increasing the community’s awareness, positive attitudes and sensitivity towards people with disabilities.
Camps are operated at Sandy Beach Park in Calgary, Alberta. This provides the perfect setting for plenty of outdoor fun in the sun, sing-alongs, games, crafts and all kinds of adventure. They also do day trips outside of the city to see the great wilderness!
Engaging in social and recreational activities, especially outdoors helps build self-esteem, quality of life and mental and physical health. This is true for children and youth without and with disabilities. That is why all children from the age of 4 to 17 years old are welcome to attend Camp Bonaventure. Individuals are divided into age appropriate groups and activities are customized to all ability levels to maximize the enjoyment and help kids be challenged and grow their individual potential.
