For 30 years, Camp Warwa has been “Making a Difference” in the lives of children and youth from all over Alberta. Our 23-acre paradise located on Lac Ste.Anne, 45 minutes west of Edmonton, sets the stage each week for personal challenge and development.
Camp Warwa is dedicated to recreation, education and social development under the guidance of mature, well-trained camp counsellors. Our programs strive to provide a safe, caring environment in which to foster the development of camper’s skill, confidence, and interpersonal relationships. Campers get to choose from a wide range of programs, including archery, wall climbing, kayaking, arts and crafts, drama and outdoor skills such as fire and shelter building. During their stay, campers will also experience groups games, tasty food, and every evening spent around a campfire.
Every camper also gets to learn the art of canoeing and gets to go on a camping trip appropriate to their age. We lead overnight canoeing trips both on our lake, and on the North Saskatchewan river. Older campers can also go hiking or horseback riding in the rocky mountains. Our camping trips offer unique opportunities to experience nature, strengthen group bonds and to challenge oneself. For many of our campers, their trip is the highlight of the experience.
