Membership Renewal
A letter
was sent out on December 7, 2011 regarding the reviewed Alberta Camping
Association Membership Fees that will be phased in this year and in
2013. Please read the full letter along with frequently asked questions
regarding the reviewed fee structure HERE. If you have comments or
concerns, this document also includes the ACA Board of Directors contact
information and we would be glad to help you.
To summarize, this notice introduced and explained the first fee
increase since 2006. Camp Member fees will now differ based on your
revenue category. Not only does this new fee structure allow the ACA to
continue to deliver high quality service and provide effective
membership support, it will also help us advance the services members
value the most: Accreditation, conference, website, and information
services that make sure ACA member camps remain at the forefront of the
camping industry in Canada.
Additional benefits:
- improved support services delivered by our office based staff
- A more extensive selection of resources available through the ACA website
- Updated Job Board functionality
- Improved, more effective Camp Search engine on ACA website
- Grant assistance funds available to members (Education & Diversity Grant)
- Quality accreditation process and support
- Strengthened conference
- More extensive marketing in 2012 & 2013 promoting the camp sector in Alberta
- Representation with the Canadian Camping Association (CCA)

2012 Annual ACA Conference
We
are so excited for this years conference! It will be held March
16-18th at YMCA Camp Chief Hector, located in beautiful Kananaskis
Country. This years conference is themed "Strategies for Success" and
will feature useful workshops, sessions, keynote speaker and the ACA's
Annual General Meeting.
We are still tweaking the program schedule and there are many more
details to come. We are looking forward to a time of friendship,
sharing, networking, and brainstorming as we work together to promote,
organize and advance camps in Alberta! We will have further details to
you shortly
Camp Management Software
Camp
Management Software is a very useful tool that can make your camp's
online registration process run more smoothly. With user friendly
applications you should find your registration organized and easily
manageable. Well, here's hoping!
"Camp management software may not seem to be a dramatic part of
camping...but the strengths or weaknesses of it can cause endless help
or headaches." - an excerpt from the Christian Camp & Conference
Associations Insite Magazine. Read full article.
We asked the Alberta Camping Association membership to provide
feedback on the issue of choosing the right software. Read what they
reviewed, discussed, and recommended on this Blog Post.
Have feedback? Feel free to post your comments on the blog by clicking
"comments" after the blog post. We look forward to your suggestions
and reviews.
